Any child in the building

  • The entrance door is kept locked at all times and controlled by a member of staff who uses an electronic buzzer to open the door to the public.
  • The entrance door lock is positioned up high, out of reach of the smaller children.
  • There are internal safety doors that are kept shut with handles for opening the doors positioned on the outside, out of reach of young children
  • The back garden door is kept locked at all times by a bolt that is out of reach of children.

Fingers trapped in doors

There are finger guards fitted where possible to the hinge side of every opening door in the building to prevent fingers from being crushed as the door is opened or closed.

Injury while playing

Any person using the play equipment

  • Daily visual inspection of equipment to identify and repair minor defects.
  • Any major failures are reported to manager and necessary steps taken to make the part safe.  Arrangements are made for a full repair to be undertaken as soon as possible.
  • The play area is fully carpeted and play areas inside the frame are padded.
  • All recommendations made on each environmental health inspection are adhered to.
  • Recommendations made by ROSPA have been implemented

Tripping  Hazards

Any person in the building

  • All flooring is inspected daily and secured if loose.
  • Balls from the ball pools are retrieved and put back into the ball pools by staff  during the day.
  • Baby buggies and push chairs are not allowed into the main play area as space is limited and in the event of a fire, would cause and unacceptable obstruction. – A space has been provided for safe storage of buggies and childrens’ bikes and scooters at the front of the building.
  • For parents and carers who prefer to keep a baby in a buggy, tables and chairs have been provided at the front of the building.

 

Cleaners carry out visual inspections and fix any loose flooring.

 

Cleaning staff  collect and put back all balls removed from ball pools

Fire

Any person in the building

  • A fully operational fire alarm system is installed that is tested daily and is routinely maintained.
  • There are 2 clearly marked fire exits leading from the main play area and 2 fire exits in the basement party areas.
  • The appropriate fire extinguishers are present and in good working order.
  • Smoking is not permitted on the premises.
  • Use of birthday candles is restricted to the party rooms in the basement that are not public areas and have bare concrete floors and no soft furnishings.

Allergic reaction to nuts

Any person with a nut allergy

  • ZoomAround is a nut-free zone.  There are no nuts or nut products used in the preparation of our food.
  • There is a large sign on the front door advising people of our nut-free policy and customers are asked not to bring their own food.

 

 

All the kitchen staff are all fully aware of the nut-free policy and instructed not to use nut products.

 

Any member of staff will ask anyone seen with nuts to dispose of them immediately.
